I chose the story john henry. people really worked hard building the railroad. People are not stronger than machones.
ReplyDelete'He swing faster and harder until the axe caught on fire."
i chose the story paul bunyan. one man cannot cut bown 10 trees with one swing of his axe. lumberjacks need to be strong to work in the wood.
ReplyDelete"one day paul bunyan took a good look at those tree and decided to invent logging."
I chose thestory john henry.in the 1870 s' people really built rairoads. people cannot swing a hammer fast and hard to make it catch on fire.
ReplyDelete" just go to town and buy me a twenty - pound hammer."
i choose the story SAlly ann thunder ann whirlwind.it iz about a girl that isnt afarid of doing anything."Don't call me sweetie"
ReplyDeleteI chose john henry because it sounds real because people dug rail rodes and carried six pound hammers what didn't sound real and was an exageration is this "he swungand drove faster and harderuntil polly ann caught fire."
ReplyDeleteI liked the story Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind. The part of the story I think could be true would have to be that she is a girl who is powerful and will stand up for herself no matter what. I think they exaggerated the story when she knocks someone's alligator costume's head 50 feet with a tiny toothpick. "Then she pulled out a little toothpick and with a single swing sent the alligator head flying 50 feet!"
ReplyDeleteI chose the tall tale Paul Bunyan. In the time of paul bunyan's life, people probably did try to put there baby's on lifeboats. But babies didn't be born with a full mustache and a six pack.
ReplyDelete"When he was only two weeks old, he weighed more than a hundred pounds, and for breakfast every morning he ate five dozen eggs, ten sacks of potatoes, and a half barrel of mush made from a whole sack of cornmeal"
iI think in John Henry races the steam drill there was something that sounded true and something sounded false."In the story they said he wassix foot tall and that sounded true but they exaggerated by saying he dug 14 feetb with his hammer".
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tall tailwas Paul Bunyon because in the story they said he weighed 100 pounds and made earthquiks happen his parents also left him. " We will think of you often."
ReplyDeleteA tall tale I have read is Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind. This tale could have been about a real girl, but the author exaggerated the story. One thing that could have been true was Sally churrned butter. Here is an example from page 124 to show that Sally is an exaggerated character. "Then she pulled out a tiny toothpick and with a single swing sent the alligator head flying fifty feet!"
ReplyDeleteThe story I picked was Paul Bunyun. Some of the exaggerated parts of the story was when he was a baby. He had a long, curly, bushy black beard. He also ate five dozen eggs, ten sacks of potatoes, and a half a barrel of cornmeal, and wieghed five hundred pounds. One of the truth telling parts was that he inventd logging. One other eggagerated part was when Paul started a logging camp. The book says,"All my loggers have to be over ten feet tall and be able to pop six buttons of their shirts with one breath." In Paul Bunyan, there were a lot of exaggerated parts, but there were also truth telling parts. All in all, I think that Paul Bunyan was an amazing man and that Paul Bunyan the story is a really good story.
ReplyDeleteI read Saally Ann Thunder Ann whirlwind. One thing in the tall tale that could have been true was that Sally churned her own butter. A part exaggerated was that Sally made a rope out of rattlesnakes to get Davy Crocket's head out of a tree. Here is a quote to support my anwser, " 'Don't call me sweetie," she said. " And don't worry about giving me any pretty little comb, either. I'll free your old coconut, but just because I want to."
ReplyDeleteI chose John Henry. He was six feet tall and some peple are that tall.Peole can't swing a hamer so fast that it catches on fire it's near inpossible." Now John Henry was a powerful man six feet tall and two hundred pounds of rippling muscle."
ReplyDeletepaul bunyan could not be true becouse a 500lb babby with a big beard "the babbys strangest feature was his big curly black beard."."the babby was only two weeks old and he weighed more than a hundred pounds"
ReplyDeletePaul bunyan, the mightest logger of them all. Paul could be the mightest, tallest, and strongest but he could not make the grand caynayn or the great lakes. He might have invented logging but he could not take down ten trees with one swing. "All my loggers have to be over ten feet tall and able to pop six buttons with one breath". That could not happen but it could be five feet tall and three buttons.
ReplyDeleteThe tall tale that i chose was Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind.there was some truth to the story and exxageration in the story. What could have been true was her and Davy Crocket got married and she could cook smoked ham and dumplings.Something exxagerated was she started dancing with a bear and she could tame about anything in the world."She can dance a rock to pieces and ride a panther bareback!"
ReplyDeleteThe tall tale that i chose is Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind. There was some truth in it but not alot most of it was exaggeration. This is the truth i remember, when davy crocket asked her to get married and also turning butter. Now here is some exaggeration when she dances with a bear and when it says she was so strong she through a alligator."I can tote a streamboat on my back, outscream a panther, and jump over my own shadow."
ReplyDeleteMy favorite story was Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind. The part I think could be real is that she dosn't want a man to think she's not tought. The part I think they eggzaterated is when she sguare danced with the bear. "But just as the king bear blew his hot breath in her face, she gatherd the courage to say,"Would you like to dance?"
ReplyDeleteI choose john henry races the steam drill they use to make railroad but the story exaggerated when they said that henry put the hummer on fire.
ReplyDelete"just go to town and buy me a 20 pound hammer"
My favorite Tall Tale isPaul Bunyan. Some of the true parts are that he had a mom and dad,and also he set up a loggers' camp. Some of the exaggerated parts are that when he was 2 weeks old he was over 100 pounds."Every day for breakfast he ate 5 dozen eggs, 10 sacks of patatoes, and half a barrel of mush made from a whole sack of cornmeal."
ReplyDeleteI chose the story Paul Bunyan. One part that is exagerated is that a baby can't be over one hundred pounds when he is two weeks old. One part that is true is when Paul decides to start a logging camp. "When Paul got back from the West,he decided to start a logging camp."
ReplyDeleteThe name of the book was Paul Bunyan. A couple of exaggerations are when Paul had a beard when he was a baby and weighed 100 lbs. When he was five months old he weighed 500 lbs. But some real events from Paul Bunyan are when he was put in a basket and put out to sea. " It seems an amazing baby was born in the state of Maine."
ReplyDeleteThe tall tale i choose is Paul Bunyan. The exagerated part is when the author said he weighed over one hundred pounds when he was only two week old.I think it is true when the author said that a little ditch became the grand canyon."When he was only two wek old, he weighed over a hundred pounds."
ReplyDeletethe story that I chose is jhon henry races the steam drill. somthing that could be true from the story iis a six foot tall man with a nine pound hammer.what cant be true is that his new twenty pound hammer caught fire and he mad a forteen foot hole when a steem drill only made a nine foot hole.
ReplyDelete"heswung and drove faster and harder, and faster and harder until the polly ann hammer caught fire.
I choose Paul Bunyan because he could make giant earthquakes when he was a baby.people can't eat 5 dozen eggs."All my logger's have to be ten feet tall and be able to pop 6 buttons off their shirt with one breath".
ReplyDeleteI chosed John Henry Races the Steam Drill. It could have been possible for a man to beat a mechean, just might be."A man ain't nothing but a man."
ReplyDeleteI chooes Paul Bunyan becuase he can cut 10 trees at one time. "One dayPaul Bunyan took a good look at thoes trees and dicided to invent logging"
ReplyDeleteI chosed John Henry races the steam drill. Back when he was alive ( in the story ) everyone used a robotic drill but John used his bear hands. He was though and thougt he could beat the drill. He beat the drill and was a hero." Now John Henry was a powerful man-six feet tall and twohundred pounds of rippling muscle."
ReplyDeleteIt was funny when Paul's mom said that he was fat and waid over 100 pounds
ReplyDeleteI chose Paul Bunyan because it is very funny. It is funny because it said he weighed over 200 hundred pounds when he just two weeks old! When he grew up he got a job as cutting trees
