i think it was a good thing that leigh could support that he did not get first place all the time but i bet he never gave up and always cept writing "Oh well you win some you lose some."
It shows that he may be shy at first but once you get to know him he likes to talk. Once Mrs.Badger asked him questions he got used to talking to her."But i couldn't make it a story." said Leigh, felling a whole lot braver." He got used to talking to her and got kind of used to it and that shows Leigh can be shy but once you meet him and ask some questons he will start talking more.

I think that it shows that shows that he is careful and precautious. He's also respectful and he doesn't butt people out of the way like a goat. He was also a little nervous, probably because he had never read Angela Badger's books. I know it's a little nerve-racking to say something to someone that's as famous to Mrs. Badgers. I understand that he's a little shy, but that's no reason to let others stampede over you. Even though he didn't win, he still had fun. To prove my point, here is an example from Dear Mr. Henshaw, "I figure you win some, you lose some." See? Even though he didn't win, he still made the best of it. He's a real trooper, I'll tell you that. A real trooper.
